Letter to Fred Phelps of Westboro Baptist Church
Dear Fred Phelps of Westboro Baptist Church:
Let me just cut straight to the point. I believe you’re an idiot.
You have led the puny 40 members of your organization astray from God’s Truth. Not only do you bring shame to the Baptist name, you also bring shame to Christ’s church. I formally request that you remove the words Baptist and Church from your name immediately. From now on, you will only be known as Westboro. If you’re intent on keeping the initials WBC, I am content with you calling yourselves the Westboro Bickering Club.
Have you ever wondered why you’ve never been able to gain more than 40 members at your church? You’ve had more media coverage over the years than Harold Camping, and you can’t get anybody other than your family to join?? Maybe that’s because they’re the only ones stupid enough to follow you.
I tried going to the Westboro Baptist Church’s website at work. You know what happened?? It was blocked because it’s classified under the category: “Intolerance & Hate.” A “church” website is too inappropriate for me to view at work due to its hateful message.
When did Jesus spew out the hate that Westboro Baptist Church spews? When did Jesus tell us to go throughout the world and tell everybody that God hates gays?? When did Jesus tell us to picket and make ourselves look like absolute morons?
Jesus told us to go and proclaim the TRUTH about Him. Not to go and deliver some bitter, hateful message that you probably came up with at your one friend’s house on the weekend. When does Westboro Baptist Church ever teach about the LOVE of God? Does God hate everything? Is that why He sent Jesus to die? Do you think God hates Jesus? Take the “Baptist Church” out of your name. You’re not worthy of that title.
Soldiers die for your freedom of speech to show up and picket everywhere, and how do you repay them? You show up at their funerals and declare that “This is God’s judgement on America!” Fred Phelps, your momma must have not spanked you enough when you were a child. Do you even have a heart that Jesus can restore?
I believe you do, Fred Phelps. That’s why I am calling YOU to repentance before it’s too late. I have put up with your various signs for too long.
“God hates gays”, “God hates Israel”, “God hates America”.
What’s next? “God hates cute, little kittens”?
I have tolerated your nonsense because you have the freedom in this country to be stupid. But I don’t have to tell you that. You’re living, breathing proof of it.
I am calling you out. Stop all this stupidity. Open your Bible and actually READ it. You might learn something. Repent of your evil ways.
God HATES your sin. Only Jesus can save you from it. Holding up some hateful signs will not. You’re part of the problem… not the solution.
Jesus is your only solution.

The letter itself is a bit harsh but I do agree that the Westboro Baptist Church deserves some sort of tongue lashing from the church.
They misrepresent us and we just sit there and allow it to happen. Why aren’t we trying to do something to stop the nonsense?

Yes, WBC is stupid. But is Jesus really their only solution? What about being good? I don’t believe in Jesus or and god. Are my ways wrong? Am I part of the problem to?
Jesus is not and will never be the only answer, because in WBC’s opinion, Jesus and God are telling them to hate gay people, soldiers, etc.
I know I will never change any Christian’s views, but you sir, are a hypocrite.
“God HATES your sin”? “Only Jesus can save you”? “A TRUE follower of Lord Jesus”?
I don’t think WBC is the only place filled with morons – go look inside any other church.

have you ever been inside a church? i dont think so. you dont believe because you dont want to have a set of rules to follow, you want to live the way you want, full of sin. no, he/she is not a hypocrite bc it is the truth. Jesus IS the only one who can save you

First, thanks for your comment. I’ll answer your questions as quickly as possible.
1) Is Jesus really their only solution: Yes.
2) What about being good? None of us are good. Who do you know that is good?
3) Are your ways wrong? Yes
4) Are you part of the problem too? Until you accept Jesus, you have a major problem.
I don’t care about WBC’s opinion… it’s a lie. Never in the Bible are we told to hate gay people, soldiers, etc. The bible instructs us to love EVERYONE.. even people who are trying to KILL us. Homosexuality is a sin, just like lying. So the WBC are in as deep of water as gay people. They’re addicted to spreading lies instead of telling the truth about GOD. That’s a major problem.
Well.. u don’t believe in God… Maybe I don’t believe in the wind. I’ve never seen the wind before… so why should I believe it?

Except for one thing.. The wind.. is quantifiable.. it’s able to be measured, and deduced to be truely there, by scientific, repeatable methods, and not just heresay and words of others.
