We Pray for Healing

There’ll be two dates on your tombstone And all your friends will read ‘em But all that’s gonna matter is that little dash between ‘em…
- Kevin Welch

How are you living your life? Will people be in eternity because you took a bold stance for Christ and told them about Him? I struggle with this truth. I can write boldly about Jesus, but if I were to see you face-to-face, I’d clam up and not say a word. I tend to only talk about “religious stuff” with other Christians when the possibility of conflict is low. Please keep me in your prayers this week. Pray that the Lord will give me a bold spirit for Him.

We’ve made it to another Friday. :) If you’re new, I like to set aside every Friday to write a prayer letter to God and lift up some of the requests from PrayBuddy’s Prayer Board during the previous week. Submit your prayer request today. We’ll pray for you, and your request might end up here.

Dear God,

Thank you for a beautiful week. We got just enough rain here in Tennessee. I thank you that my wife’s cucumber plants haven’t died (or rather.. I haven’t killed them). I pray that you’ll guide us this coming week in the way we should live our lives. If anyone reading this doesn’t know Jesus as their Lord, I pray that they’ll put their faith in His death and resurrection for the forgiveness of their sins.

Financial Woes

I lift up several families who need financial miracles from you. Sometimes it can feel hopeless to feel out of control. I pray that you’ll give them comfort to know that you’re still with them. You haven’t forsaken them. I pray that they’ll gain great character from the challenges they are facing today. I pray that in your timing, you’ll deliver them from their suffering and place them in a better situation. We trust you.

Healing From Cancer

I lift up the one with Cancer. You are the God over all. You are in control of all. I know that you have this situation in your hand and you can choose to deliver her from this disease. I pray that she’ll have great faith to trust you no matter what the outcome. I pray that in the name of Jesus, that you’ll clear her of her cancer, and we can all give you the glory and marvel over your great power. For now, we wait on your answer and trust your wisdom.

Healing & Honesty

I pray that Lynette will be honest with her mother about her illness and not pretend or make it worse than it is already. I pray that you’ll heal her and build her up as a strong mother for her children. I pray that her kids will see your work in their mother and grow to trust Jesus as their Lord.

Great Son

Thank you that some kids are awesome. A lady’s story encouraged me this week. She told about how her son has stuck by her side during her battle with breast cancer and taken much time off work to see her through it. Not everybody would do these things. Our generation is so stuck on ourselves. I pray that he’ll have favor at work as his company is cutting back. I believe that ultimately you’ll put him in a great place of employment because your word says that those who are trustworthy with little are trustworthy with much. Continue to heal this lady of her breast cancer. I thank you for such an uplifting account.

Now It’s Your Turn

Share a prayer with some of these. Lift it up to the Lord!!

If you have a prayer request, Let us pray for you.

I hope my comment will not come across as discouraging, as I mean this in an encouraging way. While I think it’s admirable that you want to become more bold in professing your faith when you are face-to-face with someone, I hope that you will recognize that you are using your gifts of writing. God asks that we be faithful with our gifts. To him who has been given much, much will be expected. Obviously, we do not know what the future holds. But please, take comfort in knowing that your work is blessing others. I feel moved to pray for you that rather than praying for you to be bolder in f-t-f interactions, that you would be bold enough to accept whatever challenges God lays before you. It might be something quite unexpected. I pray you will remain open. We each have a talent. Certainly one of yours is sharing your faith via the written word! It would not surprise me to hear that God challenges you to use your writing for something bigger. What is that? I don’t know. That is between you and Him. :-) I’m quite thankful to have stumbled upon your site this morning, as several of your posts apply directly to things I’ve been experiencing in my own walk. God’s hand be upon you, your wife, and this beautiful ministry. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Amanda, That was very encouraging! Thank you. I spend so much time wishing I could be able to speak the truth the way others do, but God created me unique to fill a certain role. I’m pleased to hear that you’ve found something on this website that has helped you in your walk!!

It can be hard to remember that God is working all things together for His purposes, especially those things that involve us directly. For me, it’s sometimes easier to see the ways in which God is moving in the lives of others than my own. In reading your post this morning, I was better able to understand my own situation–something I’ve needed clarity on for quite some time. In another post on this blog, you discuss the lies that the enemy has told you. For me, the enemy shows up in sneaky feelings of inferiority and builds on that with lies about my incompetency. It can truly seem like others are being more fruitful or faithful or whatever-ful than I. For some of us, words are a salve, and they communicate through the Holy Spirit on many levels of our being: conscious, unconscious, and of course, the spiritual. That’s just what your words did for me this morning. Thank you, again, for being a vessel of God’s Word and His Love.
